Martin Nichols, Chief Information Officer
As chief information officer, Nichols oversees Altair’s global IT systems, enterprise business systems and and corporate human resources.
He was previously Altair’s executive vice president of global alliances and operations. His role included oversight of Altair’s partnering and alliance activities, as well as sales operations.
Since joining Altair in 1992, Nichols’ accomplishments include opening and managing Altair’s UK operation as well as directly managing the Altair China operation in Shanghai. He also spearheaded the establishment of Altair’s operations, business presence and distribution channels in several other major global markets, including Spain, France, India and Brazil.
Prior to joining Altair, Nichols volunteered in the Peace Corps, teaching Math and Science at a rural high school in the Southern African country of Lesotho. After Peace Corps, Nichols worked in Lesotho on a USAID funded project focused on basic and non-formal education.
Nichols holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
