S-Life-Plastics is an easy-to-use software that conducts a short-term, long-term and fatigue strength assessment based on FEA results for plastic components made out of unreinforced or reinforced thermoplastic materials.
In order to conduct a strength assessment S-Life Plastics only needs the local stress tensor, provided by the appropriate result file of the particular FE solver. Additionally the user has to enter some basic information about the material and loading conditions. With that S-Life Plastics provides the resulting static and cyclic utilization ratios as contour plots. For every individual node a comprehensive numerical report of the most important assessment variables can be requested for documentation purposes.

Innovative lightweight design is the key to reducing consumption and pollutant emissions. Especially the paradigm shift currently underway towards more electrification demands new possibilities for saving weight to be explored. Thus the aim of this webinar is to show how a fatigue life analysis can be carried out for a modern electric drive system. Since vibration phenomena play an essential role here, a modal fatigue analysis is carried out. We present all the necessary steps to set up the modal fatigue analysis in FEMFAT channelmax and the fatigue results. The e-drive system will be subjected to an engine run-up simulation. The add-on tool HARMONIC is used for the data preparation.

Using Finite Element Models Beyond Their Upper Frequency Limits in Electric Vehicle Applications
A hybrid finite element formulation that extends the applicability of finite element models to higher frequencies will be discussed. It is based on reducing the size of the finite element model significantly by replacing major parts of the model with equivalent dynamic impedances during the finite element calculations. The Component Mode Synthesis (CMS) approach is combined with analytical solutions of dynamic and static modes for computing appropriate values for the dynamic impedances. The power dissipated by the dynamic impedance elements provides the link to an energy finite element model of the omitted parts for computing their response. Theoretical aspects, the functionality of the implementation, and comparisons between simulations and experiments for production automotive and rotorcraft systems will be presented.

Damage and Life contours are available to plot per Event in the Results Explorer. This output is optional and activated in the Preferences dialog.
Output event wise results helps to interrogate the fatigue results to determine which event(s) and subcases are contributing to the fatigue life.
