Leveraging Digital Twins to Optimize Product Design & Operation and Prognostic Strategies

To help maintain and grow its technology and product leadership in its targeted business areas (Helicopters, Aircraft, Aero structures, Electronics, Cyber Security and Space), Leonardo is leveraging Digital Twin technology from Altair together with high-performance computing capabilities.

In general, having a digital copy of our physical system speeds up support for operations by providing a real-time view of system status depending on the complexity. It also provides a route to develop diagnostic and prognostic strategies, as well as enhancing maintenance and training systems.

In particular, this presentation will illustrate how Leonardo's Electronics division has developed a Digital Twin for its Laser Obstacle Detecting Systems to help ensure reliable optical stability and control while significantly reducing physical prototyping time.
