Numerical Simulation of Distortions Induced During the SLM Process with Radioss

In order to analyse and control the dimensional quality created by SLM processes, an explicit numerical method has been developed by Altair to predict internal stresses and distortions. This numerical tool allows to study the impact of process parameters such as the laser beam path, the manufacturing direction, using of supports structures. A comparison was made between numerical results and measurement of real parts.
