Analysis of a Conical Ribbon Blender Using Altair EDEM

This video presents how EDEM can be used to achieve a reliable mixing process for bulk solids enabling engineers to meet product quality requirements in a wide range of industries without the need for physical trial and error. In this example, EDEM is used to simulate the mixing of two powders in a conical ribbon blender.

EDEM allows you to perform virtual tracing to analyze the mixture component distribution, visualize the flow pattern, including identifying dead zones, and complete advanced post-processing of mixing simulations to analyse the convection of the bulk solids in the system by computing continuum fields from discrete data.
